Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ibus

* I'm using Ubuntu 9.10.
* "apt-cache policy ibus" says ibus 1.2.0.20090927-2ubuntu2 is installed.

Normally, when typing with NOMVNI (Vietnamese input), a valid sequence
of Vietnamese quốc ngữ characters can be converted to Chinese-based chữ
Nôm characters one at a time via a floating window containing a list of
possible replacements. The user might have several "pages" of possible
choices and can flip through these pages by using the up and down arrow
keys. Once the correct character is found, the user usually presses the
number corresponding to the character to finalize the selection.

In some cases, some operations with NOMVNI can cause the application to hang.
I've reproduced the bug, and the following can cause an application to hang:
1. Activate IBus and enable the NOMVNI input method.
2. Press the following key sequence one at a time: [g], [i], [o], [7], [i],
[1], [down], [down], [down], [down].
3. The application will hang (sometime with no text or with a Chinese character
where the input was last active).

There are other ways to cause the application to hang with this input
method as well.

** Affects: ibus (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
