Public bug reported: This happens when a) an audio cd is already in the drive and Gnome is loading at system startup. b) when Gnome is already loaded (means the system is running) just a few seconds after you inserted an audio cd.
This is reproducable with every audio CD. The same audio CDs work fine under Windows XP. The drive is configured to be IDE Master and the only device on the IDE Bus. I already removed libbrasero (some people reported that this should help), but it didn't fix the problem. Interesting is that with kernel 2.6.31-14 the system freezes after running a few minutes and with kernel 2.6.31-16 the system freezes immediately. Playing the CD is not possible in both cases. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- System completely freezes after inserting an audio CD (Ubuntu 9.10) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/500577 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
