This problem has been bothering me since at least Ubuntu 9.04 and probably even Ubuntu 8.10. I have searched for ways to fix it but have not found any. Today I came upon this bug report so I tried downloading a pdf after having a new browser session. Flash worked at first but surely enough, after downloading the PDF flash stopped working.
