It happens also to me something quite similar. I used this package in debian unstable. The first time I configured this plugin, some users that were online on facebook, were added to the user list of Kopete under the group "Facebook". Now I can't see other users online (even these which have been added before), and if they contact me, I can see their user ID on the window chat, in offline status, but not in user list.
