Thanks for the tip, but the command `iwconfig wlan1 power off` does not help on my system.
I figured out how to visualize the network pauses by printing dots to the terminal in a background process while connecting to a remote system via ssh and asking it to count. See attachment for details. If you remove blank lines and turn off word wrap, it shows a very clear pattern of two pauses about 7 seconds part, repeating every 119.5 seconds. The pauses vary from about 2 to15 seconds each. (The 'local' system is using Atheros AR5418 wireless (ath9k) connected to a Linsys AP via 802.11g using WPA/WPA2. The 'remote' system and the AP are connected via CAT5.) ** Attachment added: "WiFi pause test" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/37142050/WiFi%20pause%20test.txt -- ath9k disassociates/reassociates a lot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/414560 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
