I'm having a similar problem after loading/updating with new Ubuntu OS. OS has not recognized sound card and I'm not sure how to get this to work- extremely frustrating. This has happened twice before with new OSs installation/updates...but this time and its been many weeks- no resolution. Its now Dec 23, 2009. All I want for CHRISTMAS " IS SOUND ".... :o) Running Ubuntu 9.04 Sound Card Sound Blaster - Creative Technology # 4832.
