Dear Agostino, after labouring for weeks now with a wubi installation on a asus eeepc via usb-Stick and very often being forced to boot via the grub-console, giving basically every comment in this thread a try, I am now the first time booted into kernel -16!! So it seems to work, thank you very much for Your patient research on this topic!! I followed finally your comment 210!
