I experience the same problem. But when I copy files on local disk (I made a quick script to copy 100 times a file and check md5sum) everything is fine. But I have really often corrupted files (bad md5) since a while, and memcheck is OK. I run karmic with 2.6.31-15-generic kernel, my data partition is an encrypted ext4 one.
