Just reproduced this when trying to help a friend install Ubuntu.

Started with an empty 160GB drive, no partitions listed. Created a Linux
partition and formatted with ext4 but the same problem.

Using installer, `cat /var/log/installer/version` shows ubiquity 2.0.8

fdisk -l is below:

Disk /dev/sda: 163.9 GB, 163928604672 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 19929 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x6c9fb103

   Device Boot      Start         End      Blocks   Id  System
/dev/sda1               1       19929   160079661   83  Linux


testdisk.log attached (generated from testdisk in Universe)
