hi Chris and Clay: I have the same problem with a Toshiba Satellite A70 PSA70C-ML100E. Maybe this problem only affects Canadian models. So the same problem exists for me, when i try to suspend. It goes into suspend okay, but when i press the power button to bring the laptop out of suspend, everything seems to power on (fans), but the display stays blank. Hibernate works okay, but i'm only interested in suspend working, as it kinda sucks that the laptop has to be powered on 24/7. I'm using 9.10 (Karmic, 32-bit), latest updates.
Clay, i'll try your partial solution, and see if it helps. Would be nice if one of the developers helped out.
