Public bug reported: When leaving ubuntu server 9.10 powered on without a display it crashes ~10 minutes after the last time the keyboard was pressed. Any connected SSH connections freeze and no key presses are displayed, ping requests fail and if one then connects a display it stays in power-save mode. However, if a monitor is connected at startup it will never crash. Only way to start it again is to hold the power button until it turns off, then power on again.
