Public bug reported: Frequently I do NOT want to eject media or detach a USB or other removable device, just umount it (e.g. if I have multiple partitions, want to fsck, or format one).
The mount applet doesn't have any umount option, and ejecting one partition will umount EVERY PARTIITION WITHOUT WARNING and eject the entire device. There needs to be a "DisMount just this volume" option. (Aside - the mount applet scatters volume icons randomly. If you are going to have devices, perhaps it should show one big stretched disk with a section for each partition (or at least every mountable partition - extended, swap, unknown can be ignored or greyed out), in order, so they will all be together). ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- No way to Umount a USB drive or single partition on a drive - only eject https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/497577 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
