Public bug reported:

Hi,
Sorry for the title but I really don't know any better.

Is the first time I want to use the connection since I have upgraded to
karmic, on Hardy was OK and I kept the same configuration. I'm not sure,
but I think remember that I used this after updated or at least saw the
scanning correctly.

$ sudo iwlist wlan0 scanning

These characters isn't a copy&paste error, it's an exact copy of what I
see and change every time (Address too). Others PCs don't see this
wireless network but mine yes (a screenshot of the network-manager is
attached)

dmesg says anytime:
kernel [201772.040083] wlan0: Trigger new scan to find an IBSS to join
kernel [201775.046392] wlan0: Trigger new scan to find an IBSS to join
kernel [201778.040254] wlan0: Trigger new scan to find an IBSS to join
kernel [201778.980075] wlan0: Creating new IBSS network, BSSID
7e:1a:fb:b4:a8:24 // (the address change each time)

I remember these lines in Hardy (or similars) when no PC were
connected... but in pairs.

I have configured that in boot (/etc/network/interfaces):

auto wlan0
iface wlan0 inet static
address 192.168.0.2
netmask 255.255.255.0
wireless-essid CASA
wireless-mode ad-hoc
wireless-rate auto
wireless-enc off
post-up /usr/sbin/dhcpd3 wlan0
pre-down killall -9 dhcpd3

If I try to set manually, this keep fine (essid = CASA) for a few
seconds but then again present the problems.

I can't try if it connects to an AP or a Wireless Router because I
haven't at this time.
