Hi , im having the same problem on a computer that i must remotely maintain. I found out that as long as the mass storage part of the modem is mounted no connections is available but simply umount it, will give acces to the network right away. I am looking for a way to prevent it from being mounted in the first place. uuid and fstab look promising but im a not quite competent enough to figure it out quickly so if any one get results that way please post some info.
