I found a different solution for me. I had my files stored on a Volume that was not mounted all the time. When Amarok was started before the volume was mounted, apparently some component figured out that all the files from the library were gone and emptied my library. This did not affect the playlist: Everything was still present there, I could play songs with no problem when clicking on them or when hitting the play button. Playback just stopped after one track.
