Hi,

I'd have to respectfully disagree with you. NetworkManager as it
currently supports OpenVPN seems to do a good job at allowing people who
know nothing of VPNs and have had no prior exposure to the specifics of
an openvpn configuration file to quickly and easily setup a connection
-- I think that's something that clearly shouldn't be overlooked. Then
again, I am involved with NM development, so take it for what it's worth
;)

OTOH, what you are describing appears to me like it may already be
available. My understanding is that what you're suggesting is to be able
to deal with configuration files provided by a network administrator,
correct? This would already be somewhat available through the import
function in later (0.8+) versions of the openvpn plugin.

I'm very tempted to mark this an Invalid, as it seems to me like it
falls more into some kind of GUI redesign task. It would also probably
be more efficiently brought up on the NM mailing list (or bug tracker)
if you want to get a broader point of view from developers and users.

For now I'll put this an Incomplete, please feel free to respond and add
more information as to specific things that don't work, such as
importing a configuration you want to use, for example. Additionally,
please include the version of NetworkManager and Ubuntu you are using.

Thanks!
