I can confirm the problem for kubuntu karmic with 3g modem (huawei e220). I can configure the connection via "manage connections", but when clicking on the new connection via 3g nothing happens, seems that network manager didn't acknowledge the click. NM recognizes correctly the USB 3g modem, because if I disconnect it, the 3gConnection disappears from the menu.
