FYI, I've also tried the mini.iso and ubuntu-9.10-netbook- remix-i386.iso, and using the boot.img.gz from hd-media/ instead of manually copied files, all with the same results (failed to find main /debian-installer/).
I did not try the usb-creator based method described in http://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/FromUSBStick since that seems to require already having a Ubuntu 9.10 system available, which I didn't. If that one works, could you add some manual instructions (or a self-contained package?) usable for other Linux systems without needing to apt-get software? I've now done a network install instead using http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/karmic/main/installer-i386/current/images/netboot/boot.img.gz, which worked fine with a wired Ethernet connection. (I assume it's normal that it's unable to use the wireless network for installing.) -- hd-media installer fails to install from ISO media https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/480368 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
