Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: vlc

With the default settings, VLC seems to let the screensaver start (the
delay matches the screensaver delay). Thus the screen image is slowly
dimming to the blank screen (my screensaver) and it seems to be waked
just after the dimming has reach the end of the sequence (full blank
screen).

Watchin a vidéo is boring because of those dimming cycles.
