I am using Ubuntu Karmic on a Latitude E5400 and I am using an external screen. Sometimes windows just disappear from the screen and I have to log out and inn for things to work normal. This happens after I have resumed from suspend or changed the xrandr settings. In my messages log I get the following message that might be relevant:
