Péter, that is of course one kind of a solution. I have investigated the issue a bit further. As I mentioned in my bug report, the issue is the virtual package xserver-xorg-video-5. That one is provided, if one installs the nvidia-glx-185 from lucid repos.
A true solution to this problem would be to have a new Nvidia driver in repos, that provides the virtual package xserver-xorg-video-6. As a workaround to this, I have found a PPA (Nvidia PPA, ~sevenmachines) for lucid. From there you can install one of the offered two packages. Both do work OK. 1) Latest stable: nvidia-graphics-drivers-190 - 190.42 2) Newest public beta: nvidia-graphics-drivers-195 - 195.22 -- Nvidia-glx is removed by a new xorg 7.5 [lucid] https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/494166 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
