Hello,

Have you tried typing the following lines into a terminal?

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

the above fix did not work for me

when i reboot & start up the computer, the update manager pops up with
the following message:

"not all updates can be installed

run a partial upgrade, to install as many updates as possible.

this can be caused by:

a previous upgrade that did not complete
a problem with some of the installed software
unofficial software package not provided by ubuntu
normal changes of a pre-release version of ubuntu"

and when i click on "partial upgrade" update manager still aborts
