Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gvfs

I guess this is technically a gnome upstream issue, but it's been
plaguing ubuntu for a while, and as I couldn't find any open bugs, I
opened this one as a reminder.

Using Karmic, gvfs1.4.1-0ubuntu1, my generic 4x USB Card Reader shows
up icons without media inserted.

..$ gvfs-ls computer:///
CD\DVD Drive.drive
Generic- Compact Flash.drive
Generic- MS\MS-Pro.drive
Generic- SD\MMC.drive
Generic- SM\xD-Picture.drive
root.link

The icons are changing correctly when cards are inserted, and they are
also unmounting correctly.

However it would be nice if there was a simple hack to hide the icons
when they are empty, as it's kinda klunky and makes using nautilus
Computer:/// a chore to use.. especially when I have other USB media
mounted.

(I usually go straight for a link to /media now, but that can get messy
too)

** Affects: gvfs (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
