I seem to have a related problem, but not quite the same. NumLock worked fine on my prior USB keyboard (Inland Multimedia and Office keyboard M/N: MC855692) until last week. All of a sudden, *nothing* would make the number pad work again. I don't recall if this was right after an update or not. Thinking that it was the keyboard, I purchased a new USB keyboard (CaseLogic KWD-100). Sadly, I still can't use the number pad. Since I use it *all* the time, what can I do to fix the issue? I'm running 9.10/Karmic Koala, and have been since October. This problem just started last week, almost two months after the upgrade from Jaunty Jackalope.
