Running Ubuntu on a LG S900 Laptop I always had problems with the built in keyboard, even though i can connect a USB keyboard just fine. The touchpad works fine too.
In Ubuntu 8.10 and 9.04 i could add the line: "i8042.nopnp=1 i8042.dumbkbd=1" to "Menu.lst and after that the keyboard would work as intended.
