I had this problem in a Packard Bell easy note under Ubuntu 9.10 amd64 with an Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03). I installed the pre-released updates and I can confirm the problem has been solved at least for my computer. Thank you all for your work!!!!
