also, i have reproduced this problem on three new installs of karmic on 2 64 bit amd machines and a 32 bit pentium. all behave the same way and all now work because i removed the ubuntu ff mods and then created a new profile. just creating a new profile with ubuntu ff mods enabled results in the site not working. i have spent several hours yesterday and today trying various permutations and it always comes back to ubuntu ff mods screwing my profile and then breaking apps.
