I receive many e-mails with UNC names and I find it very VERY annoying to have to "translate" them each time. They are clickable in Evolution, but clicking on them fails because it's unsupported by Nautilus. The same applies to external network links in OpenOffice documents.
This is a usability feature, just translate to smb:// when the address starts with \\, that shouldn't be hard, right? I added to 100 paper cuts because it is very annoying to users in mixed environments, like myself, trying to push for people to use Ubuntu but being slowed down by little usability features like this. ** Also affects: hundredpapercuts Importance: Undecided Status: New -- UNC file share notation should also be usable, not just URIs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/119747 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
