Here is one more thing: Because of this bug I have gone back to jaunty. There, when I added a repository for firefox, it upgraded my xulrunner and installed sth called xulrunner-gnome-support. Then I began to have the same problem. After downgrading xulrunner to whatever in the official repos my internet became OK. Ping times went back from 2500 ms to 60ms again
