I have the same problem. Even if I restart the applet, it doesn't upload. It uploads file structure, and some small files. The directory contains 256MB, and only 2.3KB are uploaded, as indicated by the web interface. Even several restarts doesn't upload /Ubuntu One/. I have cleaned it out and tried with different files. Both by uploading with Nautilus, and file copy in the terminal. Sometimes a large file is uploaded, but mostly not. I use quite long file/folder-names.
