Same Problem ? Advent 5421 laptop with clean install of Ubuntu Karmic 9.10
The touchpad is very sensitive and with tapping enabled will select any icon that is passed over without tapping. I created the /etc/hal/fdi/policy/shmconfig.fdi and entered the contents as listed. I then installed gsynaptics package.. Attempts to reduces sensitivity with gsynaptics fail. Sensitivity resets itself to anywhere between about 30% to 100% sensitivity. If setting at 30% 'sticks' which it does sometimes, it's still way too sensitive and tapping unusable. Scrolling settings don't seem to work but acceleration pointer speed does. I have tapping disabled currently. -- Touchpad too much sensitive after upgrading from Jaunty to Karmic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/442629 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
