This is on a HP Pavillion DV6000 (6782eg), AMD64
I am on Kubuntu karmic, with the latest updates. I already installed
linux-backports-modules-alsa-karmic-generic.
When running Kubuntu 9.04 alsamixer showed internal mic, external mic
and docking mic. However, the internal mic was never working and an
external mic had only sound on the left channel and cracking sound on
the right channel.
The situation under 9.10 has improved somehow, but now I experience
strange behaviour:
alsamixer only shows Mic and Digital as capturing device.
* If I have no external mic connected, the internal one works on a very low
volume, checked with VLC capturing.
* If i connect an external mic, the external works (But it seems still to "low")
* Muting the Mic or changing the capturing intesity on alsamixer has no effect
(* I can't tell wheather connecting an external mic automatically mutes the
internal one)
