It´s still an issue unfortunately m...@xerxes:/boot$ sudo modprobe -v applesmc insmod /lib/modules/2.6.31-15-generic/updates/dkms/applesmc.ko FATAL: Error inserting applesmc (/lib/modules/2.6.31-15-generic/updates/dkms/applesmc.ko): No such device
I'm no kernel developer (or any kind of developer for the fact) but my theory is that when i boot in efi mode the hardware is presented somehow differently in my laptop, than when I'm booting my macbook pro in compatibility mode (where the module actually loads) Hence the module cant be matched to my running hardware configuration in efi mode. I believe that no kernel update will solve this since applesmc is a dkms module meaning it doesn't come with regular new releases of the kernel but as a separate package compiled against the runnig kernel. My dkms sources are still the same version as before . Maybe we to get in contact with the maintainer of this module? -- [karmic] applesmc module refuses to load on iMac core 2 duo https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/153587 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
