Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager

Came home, resumed my laptop... and no wireless networks were found. I
never had a problem with wireless on this laptop; in fact the laptop
came pre-installed with Ubuntu when I bought it brand new. Rebooted
thrice, still, it was not finding any wireless networks. The error
message NM was providing was very helpful too:

Tried to do some voodoo to get it working, but nothing helped:

v...@vadi-laptop:~$ sudo iwconfig scan
[sudo] password for vadi:

v...@vadi-laptop:~$ sudo iwlist scan
