I can also confirm this bug in a Acer Aspire One. It also happen using mutter as windows manager insted of compiz (mutter --replace) in the standard gnome configuration and when usign gnome-shell. At first I think that was a problem with compositing, but the system didn't crash using metacity with compositing.
