I can understand this is an Intel chipset problem, but then only Karmic seems to have things implemented correctly as both Jaunty and Windows have no problems at all with it. Let's see if Intel will mobilise the resources necessary to fix a bug affecting only a single version of a single operating system... My guess is that is not going to happen so I believe we'll need the patch for quite some time.
