This bug has been present throughout Hardy, Intrepid, Jaunty, and now Karmic. To reproduce: 1. open an archive with Archive Manager (file-roller). 2. Click the extract button. 3. In the file selection dialog, let the initially selected folder stay selected; just click extract. Nothing happens. 4. Now, select another folder, and click extract. It works.
