Is it possible to produce a version of the above patch that apply to kernel 2.6.17 of ubuntu 6.10? Please, if you are interested in seeing this bug resolved asap, put some contributions to it, as it seems very difficult to gain attention on this issue and, in my opinion, it's yet to be determined if this is a regression of a lack of feature. For example, can someone affirm that this bug wasn't present in ubuntu dapper drake using libata drivers?
