Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics
Ubuntu 9.10 fresh install (generally base configuration with no external hardware connected) xserver-xorg-input-synaptics 1.1.2-1ubuntu7 Samsung NC10 11CA BIOS When performing testing to reduce battery drain on my NC10 netbook, I've been tracking the CPU wake-ups. I was using gnome-power-statistics to track the CPU. When the computer was idle, there would be around 40 wake-ups per second. While using the trackpad, there would be ~475 interrupts for the trackpad as well as ~150 additional interrupts per second generally increased (totalling around ~667/second). I even had one instance (not recorded unfortunately, where it was in the thousands). I compared this against other laptops running fresh 9.10 installation as well as desktops running it. Even using a USB mouse, they only generate tens or less of interrupts per second, not hundreds. Since other laptops don't show this problem but the NC10 does, I'm guessing it's a cofiguration/setup issue. I was looking at Bug #194489, and it seems to be perhaps related, but somewhat different. If I'm not using the touchpad, it doesn't generate spurious interrupts, but when I do use it, it seems to be way too high. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input- synaptics/+bug/194489 ** Affects: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Samsung NC10 touchpad generates hundres of interrupts per minutes https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/487347 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
