I have contacted fribidi & pyfribidi authors. the resume: - Ubuntu up to 9.10 includes fribidi 0.10.9 (fribidi0) which doesn't do Arabic shaping (only bidi). Pyfribidi up to 0.6.0 was build on this version.
- fribidi 0.19.2 (fribidi2) which has Arabic shaping feature is not released yet officially.
