I can now resume from suspend properly, below is the list of actions that i had to take to achieve this. remove xserver-xorg-video-radeon remove xserver-xorg-video-ati Then visited these two links and chose the correct files for my architecture. https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/jaunty/...g-video-radeon https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/jaunty/...xorg-video-ati Installed the new "Jaunty" files, and my system is running as it should. One can only assume the "Karmic" files are broken somewhere, until the "Karmic" files are repaired i have to prevent the "Jaunty" files from being updated.
