I'm experiencing this very same error reported previously (I quote original report):

This happens in Xubuntu 9.04 with evolution-exchange version 2.26.0-0ubuntu3." I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 (32 bits). Tried many ways of installation, and the bug was still there. Then, moved Synaptic to "proposed" level; and persists. Would you reopen this bug?
