In an effort to get my system booting, I thought I would try updating the kernel. I hunted around for a bit, then decided to check for "proposed updates" via KPackageKit, which showed linux- image-2.6.31-15-generic was available, so I installed it.
I rebooted and for a laugh tried the original linux- image-2.6.31-14-generic kernel (which to date would not boot without removing the "quiet" parameter) and the system booted! I tried switching off and linux-image-2.6.31-14-generic booted the second time - I am now quite confused... I will try again tomorrow, when the system has been off all night, to see if that triggers the problem again... -- hp hdx-9120ea hangs at boot after upgrade to karmic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/470597 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
