OK, just tested with 2.6.32-rc7 from the mainline kernels. And the problem still persists. However, this might be caused by the acpi=off kernel option I use, to have a not freezing X. (See: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/476817) Because I also booted the new kernel without this acpi=off option, then my X froze, but I was able to play music with mplayer. However, using the same kernel with acpi=off won't play any music.
