Had the same issue with a DFI Infinity Ultra-II. Updated to the most recent BIOS dated 2008-02-12 using the CD-ROM method in the forums HOWTO. Still got a kernel panic until I went into the BIOS and did a "Load Safe Settings". Following successful boot, I went back into the BIOS and re-enabled the LAN and USB keyboard.
