terakin's crash description matches mine. It was happening before with the previous hard drive, and I thought perhaps I had a bad hard disk. I bought a new Seagate Momentus drive and am having the same problems.
My machine is a Dell latitude d630, and I was running a fresh install of ubuntu 9.10. Just now I had a crash, then a cold boot, and now I get the following during boot: Grub loading. error: unknown filesystem grub rescue> I guess ext3 might be safer for the next install. Any chance I can get at my data or is everything fried? Thanks. -- EXT4-fs error https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/389154 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
