Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: dahdi-linux

An ubuntu-minimal system cannot install the DAHDI module for Asterisk.
The DKMS build fails with this error message:

  make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.31-302-ec2'
  awk: line 2: function gensub never defined
  scripts/Makefile.build:82: *** 'Your awk program does not define gensub. Use
gawk or another awk with gensub'. Stop.

Installing gawk resolves the problem:

  $ sudo apt-get install gawk

** Affects: dahdi-linux (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
