Hello.

Some news with this problem.

I’ve shut down my computer using hardware (I've push ten seconds the
shut down button).

Now, it is just unable to switch on :
I try to boot it in recovery mode with the two kernel installed in my computer.
Both of them crash.

In the ten last lines of booting, I've seen a message similar to this one :
halt: relocation error: halt: symbol __abort_msg, version GLIBC_PRIVATE not
defined in file libc.so.6 with link time reference
Then it was written that the Kernel parnic.
Then some error lines.
Then the computer just stops : the screen stays with those error printed, but
do not change.

That's now a problem for me.
I think I will have to reinstall Ubuntu in that laptop...
Is there a way to install a new kernel without booting the computer with an old
kernel ?

I attach some informations, because I'm in the same computer, booting on
a live-CD — I hope it could be useful...

Martin.
