OK, I just needed to print another paper. This one came from http://www.iptps.org/papers-2006/Ford-UIA.pdf. The md5sum of the PDF is: 505ec9dfeb58e97fa22975eb4876181d (just to make sure we're talking about the exact same PDF).
Attached are the three pages that came out of my printer when I printed all 6 pages using evince. You'll notice that page 1 is OK, page 2 is incompletely rendered, and page 3 is the error message from my printer.
