John,

I created a new profile 'Repair Profile', and got the default settings
back.

However, when I click the icon on the top for Firefox, I get the old
profile even though I cannot see the 'Default" profile anymore.  If I
run Repair Profile in terminal, I get the new default settings profiles,
and everything looks OK.  If I close the terminal window before I close
Firefox in Repair Profile setting, Firefox closes also.

Why is this happening?  I chose not to delete the "Default' profile when
this choice was presented, but I cannot see it anymore when I open
Profile Manager via terminal.  I did this due to your warning that the
entire root directory here would be deleted.

I looked further into the replies and it looks like you ran firefox in
admin (sudo) please delete your profile and start new.

Status in “firefox-3.5” package in Ubuntu: Invalid

Bug description:
Update notification said update for foxdie blue was available.  I installed
update only to have the browser crash (it did not restart automatically) and
found no icons, menu, or address line at top of window.  I cannot access
bookmarks, history, etc.  Completely uninstalled Firefox with no changes upon
reinstall.  User account shows no changes in Firefox.  This problem is only in
the administrator account.   Lost Firefox backup before uninstall, I checked
that.  Checked backup.html file and was back to original default settings.  All
bookmarks I added are gone.  Side icon for dragging to scroll window up or down
is gone.  The only item left is the title bar.

Still have problem with www.yahoo.com home page.  When logging out of
yahoo mail, it always goes to www.m.yahoo.com page instead of
www.yahoo.com even though I have blocked this cookie, m.yahoo.com from
loading.

I am running hardy 8.0.4.3 LTS with latest updates applied.  HP vLi8,
600PIII, 512MB, dsl connection, avast home edition 4.8, updated daily.

What is ironic is I do not use foxdie to change the themes on Firefox
anymore.

Thank you,

steve
